Ross Fineman and Kelley are also executive producers. The series was developed for television by Ted Humphrey, who serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. “Manuel brings a powerful dynamic and dimension to the role - one that aligns with the books and will give the show the opportunity to celebrate the Latinx heritage and roots of this Los Angeles–based story,” Connelly said in a press statement. Lead star Garcia-Rulfo was the “ ideal Mickey Haller,” according to author Connelly, who is an executive producer and writer on the series. Neve Campbell stars as Mickey’s estranged wife, with Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson rounding out the main cast. “You just have to fake it until you make it.” “Success is all about momentum,” Mickey advises in the trailer. The stories are what you’d expect if you’ve read any mythology. But the lack of a coherent narrative makes “Norse Mythology” less captivating than Gaiman’s novels. The stories build on each other and certain gods– Odin, Thor and Loki in particular – appear in many of the stories. In “Norse Mythology” he retells the established myths of the Norse gods in stories that range from just a few pages to around 25 pages long. ![]() I loved his novel, “American Gods.” But in that book he used a great deal of creative license in incorporating gods into the overall plot of the story. Mythology and the gods have shown up in Gaiman’s past books. But I had waited so long for Neil Gaiman to write another novel after 2013’s “Ocean at the End of the Lane” that I was willing to give his brand new book of Norse mythology a try. It’s always a gamble to read a favorite author writing in a genre that’s not one of your favorites. ![]() ![]() The district will also review reading lists every eight years.
